As a symbol, the tree represents the introduction of duality and with that the introduction of choice. Unlike the simple awareness of other animals, human beings are allowed to make deliberate choices. Choice is the power we have to engage in life.
This collection explores the artist’s interpretation of the different meanings the symbol holds for her. Over time, the collection evolved and latter pieces focused more on the root systems, and all that is unseen and hidden underneath.
